Meaning: Continuing forever

Our dumb illusions tend to make us believe that our present is a constant that will continue forever. The impermanence of circumstances is the primordial truth. Our life can be categorised into an assortment of several memories. The happy moments, sad periods, calm phases and torrid times combine together to make our experiences. These experiences lay the foundation for our behaviour. External circumstances create behaviours that blend with our innate nature giving rise to several personalities. These personalities can be agreeable, dominant, stubborn, sceptical and many more. The constant battle between each of these personalities create complex branches of decisions and those decisions form the basis of gauging any human being. If forming a decision is such a complex process, why do we hold any human to impossibly high standards that we cannot possibly achieve ourselves?

Our selectiveness in helping someone is a prime example of this. What rationale can there be behind helping a hungry child but not helping a hungry man given a choice to select between both of them? Our hearts go out for the hungry child before we can extend it to the hungry man. A simple explanation we give to ourselves might be that the kid needs it more than the man. I am not here to judge the morality of our decisions here but I would like to ponder upon the nature of our gut feeling or instincts that play into our lives and more often than we would like to believe actually affect the course of our life.

Suppose a person feels that they truly love someone from the bottom of the heart but the feelings are not reciprocated. Does that mean the person remains stuck with those emotions till the day they cease to exist? In almost all cases, our emotions fade away with the course of time. What we feel today may not be true after some time. Does is it mean that the emotions of that person are tainted because of the fact that they had the same emotion for someone else at some point in time? To say that there is nothing like the first love and every other love is simply a way to fill in the gap that was left when our object of love did not reciprocate.

The reality is that our object of love changes with time for a reason or none at all but what truly remains is the instinct of that emotion which in this case is love. You can be angry with someone today and may love them the next day and totally cut off with that person the day after. The only thing that remains in us is the instincts of those emotions that we flood ourselves once we perceive the object.

No one idolises Krishna for the charms, dance and magic. To learn, endure, fight and win over our circumstances without giving up no matter what is the biggest lesson that he has taught many of the people of his time and generation after by leading such a difficult life where everyone wanted him dead from the moment he was born.

No one remembers a human for their physical self but for the life that they led and how that brought an impact to the people around them or to those who really know. The essence of a human is within the self and that is what continues forever.

Work on yourself, kill the dreading anticipation of a favoured result, deal with the circumstances as they come and everything shall fall in place as it should.
