It is in the nature of the writer to create situations and circumstances that forces the protagonist into making decisions that bring them closer to their treasure. We spend our lives musing and perversely imagining about the treasure that lies beyond our determination to take action. Treasures are what they are for a reason. They are not meant for everyone to have but it is reserved for those who possess the determination to step forward and take action. Your decision may not always lead you to the treasure but it certainly brings you closer than ever. Every step of action forces the author to create a series of circumstances that act as stepping stones to your goal.

There is a reason we love superheroes. We do not love them because of their power but how they wield it for the good. The biggest tragedy of life is to not find your treasure that lies beyond your inaction.
